The "intent" of this video is debatable, but what isn't is the fact that Nigel missed a prime opportunity to promote our hobby. His bleeding all over the place as a result of handling reptiles only gives our enemies more amunition in their efforts to take away our rights to keep herps. Entertaining, sure, I watched it 5 times, but each time made me feel more disgusted.

I think everyone has misunderstood the intent of the video. One ingredient of good drama is DRAMA. I think that's what Nigel and Conan attempted and succeeded in providing.

Folks seem to have missed the point of this video. It was not intended as an instructional video, but more for theater.

Most herpers enjoyed it, and thought Nigel was pretty funny. Anyone who knows herps understands the intent. For those who don't, I feel bad they didn't understand the bigger picture.

Disgraceful. Set herpetology back 20 years. No wonder legislators are proposing stupid laws (regulating the sale and ownership of certain reptiles); they presume from what they're seeing and hearing that herpers are stupid. We need new spokespersons and lobbying efforts designed to show the true face of the serious, committed hobbyist.
