My wife and I like to call bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps) the “Labrador of lizards.” They are naturally docile, take veggies right from your hand, and often sit in your open palm without too much squirming or trying to escape, even at a young age. Older dragons will just hang out on your shoulder as if there is no place else they would rather be (except for maybe eating). They love to sit on your lap and absorb your body heat, and when they do get down or jump, they usually don’t run and hide into the smallest, tightest, darkest spot they can find. In my opinion, the bearded dragon is the best pet lizard on the planet.
