“Drawn To” REPTILES

If you like to doodle, sketch or paint reptiles and amphibians, then this is the contest for you! Send your best herp artwork to the “Drawn To” REPTILES Amateur Art Contest. Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate from Zoo Med, and their artwork will be published in REPTILES August 2009!

CATEGORIES:
Contestants will be divided into three age groups:
  12 and under
  13 to 17
  18 and over

There are four subject categories: Amphibians • Snakes • Turtles/Tortoises • Lizards

Submit as many entries as you like in one or more of the animal categories listed.

PRIZES:
There will be one winner from each age group in each subject category — 12 winners in all. Each will get to choose $50 worth of products from Zoo Med Laboratories (zoomed.com). Artwork also will appear in the August 2009 issue of REPTILES magazine!

HOW TO ENTER:

Mail actual artwork or high-quality photos of it to Art Contest, REPTILES, P.O. Box 6050, Mission Viejo, CA 92690. Actual drawings or paintings must measure at least 3 inches by 5 inches and be no larger than 11 inches by 14 inches.

You may e-mail high-resolution digital images of artwork as attachments to reptiles@bowtieinc.com. Type “Art Contest” in the subject field. E-mailed images must be saved at 300 dpi, measure at least 3 inches by 5 inches, and be formatted as TIFF or JPEG files.

Every submission no matter how it’s submitted must include: names of the artwork’s featured animal species, your name, complete address, age and birth date, and daytime phone number. Your e-mail address and the title of your work(s), if applicable, are optional.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:
The contest is open to amateur artists only — no professionals, please.

Eligible media include pencil, paint, pastel, crayon, pen and ink, etc. Sorry, computer artwork and sculptures, including fabric, are not eligible.

Due to the number of submissions we normally receive, artwork cannot be returned and becomes the property of REPTILES magazine.
