Win a free herping trip to Cameroon!

By Russ Case

In 2006 we announced our contest in which the winner got to go on an all-expenses-paid trip to Gabon, Africa, as part of an Exo Terra expedition in 2007. Every year Exo Terra Category Manager Emmanuel Van Heygen leads a group of intrepid explorers to remote regions of the world to conduct herp research. Tanzania, Madagascar and Gabon are three of the places that have been visited. Adding to the excitement is the potential of discovering new species. So far, three — two geckos and a chameleon — have been discovered during the Exo Terra expeditions.

In case you didn’t see the announcements published in the December 2009 and January 2010 issues, we’re having the same contest again. This time the winner will participate in an expedition headed to Cameroon, Africa, in 2010. Think of all the cool wildlife you could see on such a trip! All you need to do to enter is explain to us by April 30, 2010, why you think you should be the one to go.

Participants do need to meet three requirements in order to be considered. First, you must be at least 18 years old. Second, you must be able to get around under your own power. This trip involves hiking some rugged terrain. Third, you must be in good health. Also, Exo Terra is looking for a real go-getter who can bring special contributions to the expedition. Does this sound like you?
