Answer: The Florida Softshell Turtle (Apalone ferox) can be found in the southeast United States in almost any body of water that contains enough food for it to survive on. In the wild, they typically feed upon fish, insects, snails and crawfish. They differ from most other turtles in that their shells are not hard, but instead supple and leathery. Softshells rarely come out of the water unless they are depositing eggs or occasionally to bask. They are typically shy of humans and are fast in the water and on land.

Winners: 10 winners are randomly selected and will receive 500 Club Reptile points. Winners will be notified by email.
