Answer: The Nile Monitor (Varanus niloticus) is a magnificent and powerful beast that can grow to 7 feet in length. It ranges from Egypt down through South Africa -- anywhere there is water. It is a  voracious predator and eats virtually anything it can get into its mouth -- including carrion. In the wild, it can be scene scouting the water’s edge looking for eggs, snails, insects or leftovers from a croc dinner.

Winners: 10 winners are randomly selected and will receive 500 Club Reptile points. Winners will be notified by email.
