Do you fancy yourself an expert at identifying snakes? Then here's a challenge for you.
Pick up a copy of the December 2013 issue of REPTILES magazine, pictured below. If you subscribe, you should already have it. Otherwise, look for it in pet stores such as Petsmart, Petco and others. Or bum one off a friend or family member.
Turn to page 29 of the magazine.
There you will see an advertisement for Midwest Tongs.com, featuring a rather agitated-looking snake with mouth agape.
Can you name the species of snake in this Midwest ad? Everyone who guesses correctly will be automatically entered into a raffle in which three lucky winners will be chosen at random to receive up to $100 worth of free Midwest Tongs.com equipment of their choice. It's the perfect contest for snake fans!
You have until 12 pm PST on November 1, 2013, to submit your guess in the form of an email sent to email@example.com. One guess and one email per person. Type "Grumpy Snake" in the subject field of your email. In the body, include your guess as to the snake's species. You may submit its common name, but to be eligible to win the raffle you must provide the snake's scientific name. Your email should also include your name, address and the Midwest product(s) you would like to receive should you win the raffle. Visit www.tongs.com to make your selection prior to submitting your email. You may choose anything you want without exceeding $100.
Soon after the November 1 deadline the three winners will be chosen at random and notified via email.
Think you can name the grumpy snake? Then prove it and enter today! Good luck!
