I want to post this comment for the benefit of Iguana owners who are interested in Homeopathy. I was recently diagnosed with asthma and my boyfriend wanted to try aromatherapy as a natural treatment. We didn't know that some essential oils are deadly to iguanas especially Eucalyptus. Our 9 year old pet iguana began gasping and gagging when he tried to breath even though he was kept in a closed room of the house when we diffused the oils (only 2 times). After rushing him to the vet, he had to be placed in an oxygen tank and given bronchial meds just to regulate his breathing. Blood tests revealed that he has kidney damage. Two days after bringing him home from the Vet, he is still having difficulty in breathing. I have found very little information regarding iguana's health online. Wish us well as we struggle to keep him healthy, force feeding him water, food and meds.
