 When my owner first got me, I was very tiny with a very soft shell. But thanks to lots of care and calcium, I am now doing great and have more than tripled in weight! I am very friendly and like to play with the shells that are in my tank.

Hello Alvin,
Thanks for the harm welcome. I have been caring for turtles (seven in all) since 2000. It is truely great to find others who appreciate and love these very unique and responsive animals. "Neo" is the only one of my turtles that I have an actual photo of. However, I have photo copied their carapas over the years (great way to show identity and growth). Before the start of summer, I will have all of my turtle family shown on Reptile Channel.com. I presently have a Red Eared Slider, a Miss.Maps, a Ouachita Map, a Yellow Bellied Slider,a Diamondback, a Central American Wood Turtle and a Ornate Western Box Tutrle. Yes, she takes us outside in the summer. She takes us out 1 at a time and put's us on the porch and watches as we slither around the porch. Last summer I was slithering around the porch and got to close to the edge and fell off, mom caught me before I hit the ground. This summer mom's said she's going to buy a screen/mesh cage to put us in so we'll be safe. It's Athena, thanks for visiting me! Well....my becoming a blonde bombshell was only temporary. After I finished shedding, I went back to my normal gold color.Mom and dad say that my new "clothes" are beautiful! And that they love the way I look no matter what color I am! I've grown alomst two inches since I came to live with my new family! Mom says it's because my daddy spoiles me soooo much! But, I know it's because they both love me and and give me all the good stuff I need....and want! How's school? are you learning any good Turtle stuff?
