Hi! My name is Lucy & Crush.

I am an Eastern Box Turtle from East Patchogue.

4 years old

Unknown

Turtles & Tortoises

Both of us weigh approximately 4 pounds!

Lucy is a girl. Crush is a boy. Lucy is the one with the darker shell and Crush is the one with the shell that is more yellow. We first found Lucy around the corner from our house and we brought her in. Then she escaped and was missing for a while. Then she showed up on our front lawn again! So we brought her in. A few months later, Crush showed up on our front lawn so we brought him in too! They free-roamed my room for a while. But then when ShellShock escaped from his pond we decided we'd put Lucy and Crush in the pond to have some fresh air all the time! Crush is still a little afraid of human contact but Lucy loves it!

  Box Turtles Rule !
Here's another vote for Lucy and Crush.
Sorry about the lost/escape of your turtles and may good health continue to be with the rest of your chelonians.
Hey, keep in mind that box turtles are semi-aquatic and are not true water turtles/terrapins. As much as box turtles will go into the water they are not good swimmers. The water sould not be too deep and they will need to have somekind of ramp to exit the water.
By the looks of their deit, you are an excellent provider. Clean water and a varied diet is the key to keeping chelonians healthy.

HAPPY HERP KEEPING !

Come visit me, Falcon, Cudi, Jor-El, Flash, Hillary, Splinter, Neo & Squirtle.

thanks for the vote here more for you to. not really rare as much as not common i guess. they take some work to keep healthy in captivity cause they require lots of heat is the big one to get right. they are heat living (about 120 degree hot spot) but still need the temp gradient down to like 85 but its not as dificult as it sounds cause they also need large cage so my little 12 inch big red is in a 4ft X 2.5ft cage. they also need dry so no water bowl all their moisture comes from the greens and veggies and flowers but they are alot of fun and have great personalities once they get used to people and almost seem to enjoy being around you.

Come visit me, hoggie, brutus, bonnie, uro, shy, leos, sissors, ajo, hondo, feild, ball & big red.
