Hi! My name is Zack.
I am a White's Treefrog from Somwhere.
 3 years old
 Male
 Frogs & Amphibians
 3 inches
 habits and hobby's
he enjoys basking on his reptile hammock. he likes napping on his rocks behind his plants on his under tank heater. sleeping behind his hanging plant on top of his rocks above the under tank heater. .soaking in his water dishes at night.napping on his bamboo poles. stalking crickets. looking at people like they're the ones in the aquarium. i cab handle him without any trouble.
his story. i rescued him from an awful petco. the tank had low temp and humidity. he most likely was on the edge of death! he was in with two other whites tree frogs. they were huddled up in the corner. i knew that they were ill and would not have much time left. i thought that i would go somewhere else until i saw Zack. when i saw him i just knew that i had to get him. i did. he was thin and freezing. when i got him home i gave him meal worms to fatten him up and to minimize the stress. after a few days i fed him four crickets a night. finally he got larger, but not obese. i made sure his habitat was warm, humid, and well furnished. now he is happy and healthy. he was housed in a 20 long i had a tank topper coming, but it was discontinued by the maker. i spent my money on it so, a few days latter i started saving all over again. this time for a tall aquarium.of course when i was asking to spend 180$ of my hard earned money on an aquarium i was asked a lot of questions. finally i won over my parents and bought him his aquarium.
Zack is housed in a 33 tall aquarium. it is exo terra. it has 2 front opening doors, a removable screen top, and a foam background.
i got him on December 19th 6:26 pm.
i am considering getting him a friend.

wow - we thought about getting a bearded dragon, but never really considered a frog... Zack is cool! Thanks for sharing him and opening our eyes to other creatures.
Re Petco: we have our issues with Petco. In the end, they're there to make money, not take care of animals. You don't know how many times I've felt the same way as you about how animals need to be rescued from them. My son and I have talked to store managers (and been treated rudely); I've overheard them giving terrible advice to new fish owners, etc. It's too bad; they could be such a resource for animals if they wanted to be. thank you-yes that pic. was mine which showed up on google because it was as my profile pic on facebook but some one who took my photo from google posted it on their site and thinks that it isnt my gecko-so idk-i mean i love animals-as long as i have my animals im happy and guess what!My bearded dragon Sparky just got a friend-another dragon named Dylan -(i named him that because i got dylan 2 days ago and on that day my cousin in Iowa died in a car crash and his name was Dylan)anyway-hope we can be friends and cool frog-its eyes are wierdCome visit me, Dylan, Roco, Emery the second, lulu, Slicke, Loren, Flames & Sparky.

I knowthat the ate their skin. It look odd, like a thick mucus sliding ino his mouth. I found out when i pick him up(i was trying to get a pic for aa project) when i saw some skin hanging off him. It was cool. I took a pic and put him back in his cage. I'll see if i can put a pic of his habitat up. Were should i put it?Come visit me, Chris, Flame & Akila.

Chris finally!!!
Last night I pick up to Chris to check on him. He was ffine so i place him on the edge of his water bowl. There was one cricket left in his tank. It just molted so it was white and soft. It was walking in front of the frog. I watch said a little pray, and watch some more. Chis didn't move. So i left. When i came back Chris was right were the crickets was with a happy look on his faace. I search the tank and tcould not find the white cricket. Chris had finally eatin something!!!

I got my frog 25/12/2010. It was my chirstmas gift. The crickets are half a inch long. I lostmy gauge which i was using to check temputure in my tanks. Of wat i read, these frogs don't need that high of humidity, so i spray the tank twice a week. After the day i got him, i was letting him get comfable to his tank. Im thinking change prey because i read that somebody elses white got bore of his prey. If this and that he not comfable yet i his tank the reason, i don't no wat is. Alos i don't know wat the forums is, the thing you said i should post this one.Come visit me, Chris, Flame & Akila.

my frogs isn;t eating.
i got my white treefrog this 2010 christmas. He looks very good to me. The only things is i havebn;t seen him eat yet. I read something that said you should give them a week and then the should start eating. I heavily misted his cage one night and put some crickets in to see if he would eat them. Next day, the crickets were all there. Do you know any way i can get him to eat? This is the same thing i ask Artemis. It seem like your frogs are eating. It's frogsrock... again
Thank you for all of your help. I have one more quick question though. Last night I was reading an article about White's Tree Frogs in a friend's old REPTILES magazine and read that you should feed your frog some other type of prey every few feedings, such as: earthworms, cockroaches, moths, houseflies, mealworms, waxworms, ad silkworms. Thank you for asking about Artemis. The first night I had her, I gave her three crickets, but she only ate two. The second night I gave her two crickets dusted with a calcium/ vitamin D3 supplement. As far as I could tell she ate both of them. I'll feed her less frequently, but she is only 3 months old, and is 1" long. I feed her the pinhead (small)crickets from Petsmart. I may give her only one cricket once a week, so she doesn't get fat. She is just a thin little thing right now. She seems very happy and healthy. I've tried holding her a couple times. Today was the most successful. She sat on the palm of my hand for the longest time, but then she hopped onto my shirt. I gently took her off of my shirt and put her on my hand. After a few more minutes, she crawled up me sleeve.
I am very glad I chose Artemis, she has a ton of personality, and is very entertaining to watch.
Thank you for all of your help. If I need any White's Tree Frog advice,I know who to go to.

They love the homemade enclosure I built for them outside. I treat them like they're my children, but small and scaly! Zack looks great, I want a White's someday! yeah, i guess that is a little bit of a problem... terrariums are so expensive. i found a fifty gallon tank the other day that someone was gonna throw away on the side of the road. so i got all of my treefrogs set up in it now. here's another vote.
