Hi! My name is Ozzy.
I am a Savannah Monitor from St. Charles.
2 years old
Male
Lizards
2 1/2 feet long
Can be very aggressive, he thinks a lot about what he is gong to do.Eats live mice that I breed just for him. Ozzy was a year old, well thats what the reptile broker I got him from told me. He was 20 inches long at the time being and I was told he was going to be a chalange, so I took the chalange. I only paid 20 dollars for him, and I believe he was wild cought. He will only eat live mice, curently he is 24 inches long and is in a 50 gallon glas aquarium. I use horse shavings for the substrate, basking spot of 115 degrees F, water bowl, and a tunnel log for him to hide in. He gets along with my dad okay, as in he will let my dad hold him for like 5 mins and then he wants to be put down. He stoped full blown biting, but now just nips. Man the first Savannah Monitor lizard didnt ask like this, or he didnt get a chance to, I got my first one at a pet store because they werent taking proper care of him, and he died 3 days after I took him home, he was a real sweety. Now what to do with Ozzy is just a puzzle that will just have to be put together piece by piece untill he is, well a tid bit more tame. (the picture posted is a close up of him when he was a little baby)

hey there heres a vote well sounds like you've got your hands full, let me know if you have any issues or questions i picked up alot of info since i got mine and he is a good little fello, he now lets not only me but my significant other hold him as well, which took time but was well worth it, its always good to have two people who can handle a pet. he can be feisty too but only stuff like today i opened the cage door and he lept onto his blanket i was going to hold him in, and held on until i wraped it under him and he chilled, they are really smart and fun, clever buggers. good luck and dont hesitate to ask questions or whatever, there is a pic of quests cage on his page, it isnt very clear but he is also 2 feet and his cage is 6ft x 3ft? maybe i know its 6xsomething, anyway, have funCome visit me, Quest.

tegus i heard savannah monitors could be aggressive. Tegus are awesome. Black and white argentine tegus are the most docile. I just got my first tegu. I found her in a petstore, someone had gotten bored of her and traded her in. I wanted one so I bought her for a good price. They get about 3-4 ft in length. They're really nice, mine has never tried to bite, tail whip, or anything. She hasn't displayed any kind of aggression. She claws with her sharp nails if I'm carrying her and she wants down but that's it. Tegus aren't that hard to keep, they need a big cage ( 6ft long, 3ft high, 3ft wide) and they like to eat alot of white meat, and mice and some fruits and vegatables, and eggs. Don't hand feed it because then it will think your hand means food and may bite so putting it in a different cage for feeding is a good idea. I hope all this info helped!!Come visit me, Boris, Fred, Birdy, Tiffany, Clyde, Rita, Nelson, Bosworth, Dexter, Henry, Lizzy, Delia, Elly, Tristan, Carl, Bonnie, Bill, Wilbur, Zoey, Joan, Lillith, Fiona, Penelope & Melvin.
