Hi! My name is Newt-oot.
I am a Chinese Fire-bellied Newt from Miller Place.

 We went to this pet store to get crickets or something. I looked at the animals. When I was done, I noticed mom was looking at an animal, a blue-tailed firebelly newt. We got it. Seconds later, I named him Newt-Oot. I am amazed we still have him! When we first got him, he was skinny, wasn't eating, was shedding a lot, and had a notch in his tail. We thought he would die. Then he started eating tadpole bites! He did make it. We put him in the same tank as our frogs and toads. We had to take him out of the tank because his skin was being chewed by crickets and Mom missed finger-feeding him. He was fine. Today he is a healthy newt! He even eats from your fingers. What a lucky newt!
