Sorry to hear about Liz but we are glad to hear you and Yoshi are doing great mom takes me outside in my pen everyday so I get some sun and exercise I have been getting very big so next year mom will build a big pen outside for me to live in I am out growing my pen in the house and I have a very big appetite mom found out that is what comes with a big tortoise so enough about me my waterdragon brothers are also doing good demon is growing like a weed bond and fred I dont think they will not get much bigger but demon is almost the same size as fred with a big appetite too. Demon keeps the house cricket and spider free, if he see a bug he eats it so mom loves letting him out to run. Well it was nice hearing from you we left a vote for you and Yoshi you take care and we will talk to you later.Come visit me, bond ( R.I.P. my little buddy ), Fred (RIP my big boy), Cata & Demon.

I'M BAAAAAAACK!!!
Mommy & daddy are back from their romantic getaway! They actually came home yesterday, but my blogging business did not start in full speed until today. They loved it! It was mommy's second time and daddy's first time to visit Hearst Castle. But, it was mommy's first time to tour the upper levels of the main house Casa Grande. If you appreciate antiques and arts, you gotta check out this castle! It was cold and gloomy in Central Cali, but as they drove south to head home, it was back to 105F! ...WHAZUP??? It has cooled down a lot, so mommy doesn't let me out in my sun room until after noon. I'm outside sun bathing as mommy blogs. I'm lovin' it! It increases my appetite (like I needed help in that department!), and mommy thinks I'm not as bumpy (it's all in her mind...like daddy always says). For my second ROTD badge! I guess it has been a year since I became ROTD. Time flies when you're having fun...and with friends like you, I'm having a BLAST! I was outside again all day, and I will be daily if the weather permits. Daddy put up the big crate and it is now my permanent sunroom...no more sharing with the english bully...(sigh of relief)! LOL! Check out the pic on my page.

Momma worked today...
...but that didn't stop me from having my natural sunlight therapy. I was out for at least 5 hours, with Nana watching me closely. Mommy will be off tomorrow, so for sure I'll get more sun. I'm loving it! So this is how sunbathing feels like. I've been inside most of the time for a whole year. Mommy really hopes that my shell will be smooth soon. She saw some horrific photos of tortoises with deformed shells. She would die if that ever happened to me!
Today Zorro the pug turned four. All he got was a low fat dog biscuit, cuz he's on a diet. Most of us in this house hold should cut down their food intake (mommy is on top of that list), except for me ofcourse...I'm but a growing baby tortoise...LOL!
Mommy and daddy will be celebrating their ninth anniversary soon. They'll be going to their little Hearst Castle getaway from 9/20 to 9/22. Poor Nana...she only had us four legged ones the last time they went on vacation. This time, she'll have the kids, too!

I MISSED YOU SO!!!
FINALLY!!! I get to blog to my dear friends! Well...actually, mommy helps me a lot. She was MIA for a LOOOOOONG time! I visited RC everyday while she was gone...I just couldn't type with these stubby feet of mine...LOL!
The family had a great Summer break. They spent three nights at the Disneyland Hotel, and then five nights at San Diego. Mommy was broke after those three days at Disneyland! The food was sooooooo expensive!
The family still misses ZIGGY the frenchie. Mommy adopted two female dogs...Zina the frenchie and Bella the english bully. This is a full house and it is always busy around here.
As for me, I'm growing big fast! Mommy really needs to plan my new enclosure soon. I eat twice as much and I can barely fit into my tunnel now.
The Anaheim Reptile Expo is going on this weekend. Mommy is debating whether or not to go to the expo. The Pomona county fair is her other choice, but the fair will go on for a month. You know how weak my mommy is...if she goes to the expo, she might come back with another tortoise. I dread that thought! Jacob, mommy's oldest son, does want another milipede. The other one they got for him is thriving well.

LIFE MUST GO ON...
I'm finally back. I was off for over a week, because we lost our frenchie Ziggy. I found her dead at our back yard. I was devastated! I cried so much...it was like losing a child! She was all swollen with blood coming out of her nose and mouth. The vet said it looked like a severe allergic reaction called an anaphylactic shock. She was probably bitten by an insect or stung by a bee. She was barely one year old...
We said our good byes...she lives in my heart forever...
On the lighter side, SB is getting HUGE! I just fished her out of the tunnel to soak her, and she could barely fit into her tub! I swear that I just soaked her a couple of days ago, and she wasn't this big.
We'll be going to our vacation on 8/11. Three nights at Disneyland Hotel and five nights at San Diego. Something to look forward to...
The two older ones are still in their summer camp, having lots of fun. The latest good movie I saw was Harry Potter.

HOT! HOT! HOT!!!
We went to my monthly pug meetup this morning and we only stayed for 30 minutes. It was just too hot for the short nosed dogs. My Frenchie was making all kinds of nasal noises. There wasn't enough shade at the dog park.
We're going to Disneyland (AGAIN!) tomorrow. They open from 8 AM until midnight daily all summer, so we'll be there bright and early. That means I have to get up at the crack of dawn. Getting three kids ready and out of the house is a big time consuming job.
I was about to feed SB some fruits this morning. Good thing I didn't. I went on line and found out that fruits are not good for Leopard tortoises. I saw some photos of sick tortoises with deformed shells...it broke my heart! Bad diet can cause all kinds of problems. I don't think I feed SB accordingly (their diet should be 70% grass), but she seems to be healthy. I tried giving her grass, but she wouldn't eat it.

OMG!!!
I was gone for a LOOOOOOOOONG time!!! Let's see...where do I start...LOL! We got annual passes to DISNEYLAND, so the kids are happy...I am, too! As mature (not old) as I am, when I'm at the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, I become a kid again.
My two older ones are in SUMMER CAMP...WOOHOO!!! We were the first ones to be there on their first day, with my face pressed to the glass door...OPEN! OPEN! (like the MERVYN's commercial). My four year old will start his SUMMER FOR TOTS next week. It will only be twice a week, two hours at a time...better than nothing.
Then, I got sick and felt BLAH! But I didn't call off on FOURTH of JULY cuz the money was too good. BTW, HAPPY FOURTH! Better late than never.
SB is good. She's getting really big (check out the new pics). I'll have to get her a new tub the next time I soak her. She occupied that whole GLAD tupperware. Her shell has more yellow now. Her shell patterns are still the same size. There are more spaces in between them...guess her shell is stretching.

FINALLY...
I get to blog! I worked my usual three day weekend. We missed Father's Day. I left my hubby his gift on our bed. Since he works the night shift and I work during the day, when we work the same days, we don't see each other at all (that's what makes our marriage work...LOL!). He loved the gifts...a pair of camouflage crocs clogs and a coffee mug personalized with the kids' pic. We took him to breakfast this morning. The poor guy was a zombie after two nights at work.
I'm taking the kids to Legoland this coming Thursday. It will be a nice sunny warm day. We're going with my friend and her two kids. We'll have five kids all together...WISH US LUCK! We really need it.
SB is more active...thank goodness! The last thing I need is a sick tortoise. Since I'm off today, I observed what she did the whole morning after I turned on her UVB light and gave her salad. Here it is: It took her 30 minutes to slowly wake up. Then, she took her time to get to her dish (another 30 minutes...the good life of SB the tortoise...LOL!). She nibbled here and there for about 20 minutes then she walked around. She did this about three cycles. After that, she went to her dish and tried to soak herself, but it is now too small for her (gotta remind myself to get a bigger one). Then, she took a long nap. I ran errands, and when I came back around 03:15 pm, she was eating again! You know...I don't mind being a tortoise...LOL!

I'M LOVIN' IT!!!
My iPhone that is! It does so many things. The problem is, it doesn't come with a manual. Just like a computer, you kinda have to figure it out yourself.
Finally, it is getting warmer...high in the mid 80s. I like it cool, so I hope it won't get any hotter than this...wishful thinking! With global warming, anything goes.
With this warm weather, I don't have to keep SB's heat lamp on all day. She is still sluggish, waking up only to eat. But other than that, she seems healthy.
The kids are driving me nuts! Their summer camp won't start until the first week of July to the beginning of August...I CAN'T WAIT! Then, I'll have my three week vacation...WOOHOO!!!

OMG!!!
I'm sooooo mad at mommy! This time I refused to accept her excuse! OK...busy with the kids, grocery shopping, working...FINE! But playing with her new iPhone...a NO NO!!! My social life on RC is far more important than her little electronic gadget...but apparently, she didn't think so! She said she was just too excited, because she'd been wanting the iPhone since it first came out years ago, and daddy finally said yes.
Anywho, how are you? Long time no blog. It's real humid and way too cool to be a June day. Mommy thinks that's why I've been a bit sluggish than usual...sleeping in until late. Why is that when the humans snooze until late, nobody thinks it's the humidity or the weather? Gimme a BREAK! Why do they want me to wake up at the break of DAWN when I have a whole lot of NUTHIN' to do??? But, I'm still eating like a piglet, so no worry.
The family spent almost all day at home. They're watching the MBA final...go LAKERS!

FINALLY...
...mommy has a little bit of time to help me blog on RC. My social life on RC is seriously jeopardized! Mommy is super busy with the kids. They will be out of school in two days, and she is running around trying to figure out how to keep them busy this summer. For the past two years, the city offered low cost enrichment program. But this year, due to budget cut, they have none. Mommy procrastinated (so like her!), and she just found that out last week. So she had to run to the city hall to sign her kids up for whatever they had left. Her children will be attending the summer camp sporadically...one week on, one week off...LOL! Oh well...better than having them in the house all summer long.
Enough about the humans...let's talk about the girlie ole me. Remember I told you a while back that mommy mixed grass into my salad? Well, I didn't like it then...I picked out the veggies, left the grass and used it as beddings. She gave up and stopped giving me the grass. A couple of days ago, mommy needed to change my beddings, and realized that she ran out of the coconut shavings she usually used. So, she used the grass instead...and guess what...I WAS EATING IT!!! Mommy called me a "CRAZY LITTLE TORTOISE!".

:) I'M STILL SB...
Mommy and I both love the initial SB, so my full name is now SPONGELINA BALLERINA...SB it is. I'm growing like a weed...you won't believe how big I've gotten in merely nine months! Mommy says that I get bigger each time she soaks me, and she does it two to three times a week. Imagine that! I think I'm going through a growth spurt. No wonder I eat like there's no tomorrow. My shell has more yellow now, mainly in between those patterns of crown, heart, fried drum stick, etc...LOL! I'll have mommy take a pic of me one of these days and you'll see the difference. Mommy is working tomorrow, but she'll be off on Saturday. She's taking the kids to her pug meetup in the morning, then to a kid's birthday party in the afternoon. I AM A GIRL...!!!
It is still me! Mommy just wasn't sure what I was, so she assumed that I was a boy...NOT!!! Since my pal PETRIE suggested that I shouldn't change my name drastically, I picked SPONGELINA~pronounced SPON-GE-LINA (one of many names derived from SB that she listed...SPONGEBOBINA was good, too!). It is perfect because mommy's one and only daughter's name is ANGELINA! She was thrilled when she found out about my new name.
Now that I'm a lot bigger, the edge of the shell that meets my tail is definitely shaped like a "U" (instead of a "V"), which means that I'm a girly girl! Mommy swears that it was shaped like a "V" before! Yeah, right...she just wasn't paying attention.
If it changes back to a "V", I'll let you know (LOL)...and back to SB I'll be. Now my initial is SE.

It was a nice cool day...
...perfect for our dog walk. We had a blast and we'll definitely do it again next year. I raised $167...a bit less than last year, but that was expected, considering the difficult economic times we're going through. Our akita, Zabi, was so popular. There was only one other akita at the walk. I guess they are not the kind to mingle around other dogs. He did surprisingly well. He almost pulled my arm off, and growled a couple of times, but he didn't do anything I couldn't handle. We did the full three mile walk. Even Zorro the pug did it without having a heart attack. I guess because it wasn't as warm this year as last year.
Here's a vote and enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'll enjoy mine tomorrow at work :(

Another short blog...BLAH!
I worked three days straight, off one day (tomorrow), and another three days!!! I think I've made a BOOBOO when I plotted my schedule. I have to get up early tomorrow. I'm taking my two older kids and dogs to The WALK for a good cause. I raised money for the local shelter. This is the second year I've done this and I LOVE IT! I'll have my akita this year, so wish me luck! Here's a vote and have a great weekend! TTYL.

THE MOVIE WAS GREAT!!!
WOW...two great movies in a row! First, STAR TREK, then TERMINATOR SALVATION we saw tonight. Hubby took me for a date to celebrate my birthday. We went to Lucille's BBQ for dinner at VICTORIA GARDEN (an outdoor mall), then, while waiting for the 7 pm show, we...or shall I say...I, went shopping. We spent a great amount of time in Victoria Secret and Sephora (the ladies know what kinda stores these are...well, I'm sure the guys are well aware of Victoria Secret as well :). He didn't whine at all...for a change! It was my birthday celebration. I had a great time!

I'M HAVING A RELAXING NIGHT...
...after a crazy hectic day at work! I swear I spend more time dealing with "paperwork" (although everything is now computerized) than taking care of my patients!!! It sure is not easy being a bedside nurse. I really want to go back to school to be a Nurse Practitioner.
Now...I'm kicking back talking to you...while I listen to my iTune music...no ventilator alarm, call light...this is heaven!
As for this Summer vacation, hubby and I have decided to take the kids to Disneyland and spend two nights at the hotel there. Then off we go to San Diego for at least 6 nights. The kids love it there...they have Legoland, the Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and beautiful beaches. Something to look forward to...
If you complimented on the "ROSE" I sent you, I wish I could take credit for it. I copied and pasted it from CC. I'm not that creative.
Be sure to check out there movies: Wolverine, Harry Potter, The Terminator and Transformer. We LOVE watching movies. When my hubby and I were dating, we watched 3 to 4 movies every week! I remember our first movie...THE PRINCE of EGYPT (it was a cartoon).

My home is nice and clean. After eating lots of my salad, I buried myself and pretty much napped all day!!! The good life of SB the Leopard tortoise...aaahhhhh. ..mommy wishes she has my kinda life...eat, sleep and then I do a whole lotta nuthin'...afterwards I get to relax!!! LOL!

IT'S MY TURN...
SB here...it's my turn to blog, and this time I asked mommy nicely, and she said YES!
Mommy just got back from Petsmart with her three kids and two small dogs (the big one stayed home to guard the house and me). She bought me some fresh coconut shavings and a small jar of dried hay cubes. Mommy sprinkles those on my salad, and I seem to like it.
I'm getting my bedding changed tonight...that means I'll be soaked while she's cleaning my home...BLAH! But, at least I'll have fresh bedding after.
It's been hot here, but it doesn't mean Summer is approaching. We'll never know what the weather will be like the next day.
Mommy attended her second charge nurse class today...she said it was (YAWN...) BORING! She's off tomorrow and she'll have her three day stretch at work...BLAH!

THE BIG MOMMA IS BACK!!!
A certain little tortoise who shall remain anonimous needs some spanking! LOL!
I can't talk much (wow...that's new!) because it's getting really late and I'm working tomorrow. Our mother's day celebration was short and sweet...just the way I like it. My boy Jacob got a $40 Target gift card from my sister, and he had a shopping spree. He liked the idea of being able "to pay" for his own stuff using his gift card.
I'll be busy as usual, so I probably won't be able to log on everyday this week.

IT'S ME BLOGGING...NOT MOMMY!!!
FOR A CHANGE!!! 'BOUT TIME! MAY DAY was my birthday, so I get to say hi to everybody on RC! It is the least mommy can do, since she made me mad on my special day...BY SOAKING ME! BLAH! She said I needed it...but I also need real sunlight all day everyday, all the veggies I could eat, acres and acres of land...but I'm not getting any of the above!
Other than that...it's all good. Mommy and her family are meeting with her side of the family tomorrow. She doesn't have a big family...she only has one older sister and one younger brother (she's the middle child...don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out). They're celebrating early mother's day and belated Jacob's 8th birthday...hey...how come I'm blogging about my mommy??? This is what I get for being a tortoise...I can't type very well with my short stubby legs. I still need mommy's help and she completely sabotaged my blog! LOL!

SO I LIED...
I said I wouldn't be here 'til the weekend, but I just missed RC too much! Among all the channels, RC is my favorite. I get to go BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...and you always listen to me...LOL!
I am still working for the next two days, but no complaint from me (I'm trying hard not to...). At this difficult economic times, I am just thankful that I have a job.
SB is doing well. I said to myself I wouldn't even think about getting another tortoise. He looks happy the way he is...all by himself.
If I ever get another reptile, it would be a beardie. I'm totally in love with the species. But I know my hubby will never say yes to it. The thing is, I need to set up another tank, and we're already overwhelmed with the pets we have.
Anyway, thanks for listening as always. Here's a vote for you and I ttyl.

Nothing much going on here...
When the kids were in school today, hubby and I went to do some errands. Spent lots of $$$ on food! Boy...everything is so expensive nowadays!
Back to work I go tomorrow, then I have to attend a mandatory class on Thursday. After that, another two days working. So, I'm sure you know that old song by now...IF YOU DON'T SEE ME ON RC, YOU KNOW WHY! LOL! Thanks and a vote for you. Have a great weekend...just in case I don't see you until then.

READY FOR THIS???
It was 95 degrees today!!! Good thing it was breezy...so it wasn't bad. The Pet Expo was great...we got some dog treats, a fancy collar for my french bully and two dog beds. We didn't find anything for the kitties or SB. I took the kids to the petting zoo and there were some GINORMOUS African Spurred Sulcata tortoises! They were walking around and didn't mind to be petted. I took some pics and I'll post those ASAP. I (and the kids) had so much fun!!! Back to work tomorrow...all good things must come to an end. I'm getting our passports this coming Tuesday...if all goes well, we're planning on going for a 4 night cruise to Mexico this coming Summer. Here's a vote and I hope you enjoyed your weekend...I did! IT WAS A GOOD DAY...
We went to Knott's Berry Farm and spent half of the day there. We did the kiddy's rides, since my hubby wanted to stick together. Usually he takes my oldest son and they do the big roller coasters, while I take the two little ones and pretty much stay in CAMP SNOOPY. My son Jacob and my hubby finally rode on BOOMERANG. Each time he tried, Jacob cried like a little girl. They loved it! I hate roller coasters so I'm glad that Jacob is finally enjoying those scary rides, and has become my hubby's roller coaster buddy. He used to harrass and make fun of me for being a big "chicken". It was cloudy but it only drizzled. Back to work tomorrow, and I'll be off Easter Sunday. If Legoland is open that day, I'll take the kids there. Wish me luck since I'll be severely outnumbered (hubby has to work that night, so it will be just me and the monsters). Here's a TGIF vote and ttyl.

YOU GOTTA SEE IT!!!
Avenue Q was SOOOOO FUNNY!!! I bought the cheapest tickets so it was the nose bleed section for us...LOL! The good thing was there were many empty seats closer to the stage, so after intermission, we were allowed to move to those seats. We both enjoyed it, but it is definitely not for kids...if you know what I mean. Our next musical will be SPAMALOT at the Ahmanson theatre in LA sometime in July...gotta space them out cuz my wallet is losing lots of weight...LOL! Here is a vote for you and we have a question we also asked for spongbobs opionin we know we are all different breeds but we are all torts mom has been looking up on sulcatas and cata is small for her age they say dont over feed but how much is to much and mom is trying to figure out if I am a girl or a boy but she is mainly trying to get my food in order its not like she can see my body to see if I am getting fat but see was watching you tube and their is a sulcata on their that is 7 years old 18 inches long and wieghts 70 lbs cata is almost 5 and is 9 inches long and wieghts 8 lbs but I dont trust my scale it lies to me all the time. So any opionin you have we would appreciate it very much so we will talk to you later.Come visit me, bond ( R.I.P. my little buddy ), Fred (RIP my big boy), Cata & Demon.
