ONE WHOLE YEAR TODAY!!!
I came home exactly a year ago today on September 6, 2008. Mommy and family went to the exact Reptile Expo in Anaheim today, where she bought me. Thank goodness mommy didn't bring any new reptile home. The one thing I require is undivided attention.
Mommy had a little chat with a lady who sold tortoises at the expo. She found out that calcium supplement springkled on my food should be given weekly, not daily like she's been doing. The lady also told her that a healthy tortoise should have relatively smooth shell, not bumpy like mine (see my profile pic). She also said the most likely cause of that was lack of natural sunlight. So, I've been outside since she got home from the expo...she really freaked out, thinking that I was sick. But, beside the bumpy shell, I seem pretty healthy. I eat good, and I'm active...well, as active as I can possibly be in my small enclosure. That's why mommy is really considering buying me an outdoor house ($99.99) or playpen ($59.99). She can't decide, so she posted the pics on my page. What do you think? I do need natural sun light.
Mommy bought me cactuses and cactus fruits from the expo, so she gave me some after I exercised outside. I forgave her for disturbing my nap.
Jacob, mommy's oldest child, got another milipede he named Goldie. Now he has two of them. They also saw many cute bearded dragons. They were pretty affordable, but the thought of having to take care of two enclosures just freaked her out. I didn't know that mommy had that much sense in her...LOL!

RIP my best pal PETRIE 106651...
I HAVE A MESSAGE I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU...THIS IS THE OWNER OF MY BEST PAL PETRIE:
So I've finally come back on RC to tell everyone what happened. Little Petrie passed away this past Saturday night. It was the worst day of my life. I want to educate people on what happened so NO ONE will have to go through what we did. I know Petrie would want the same thing and she'd want all of her friends on RC to know. Petrie was extremely calcium deficient from laying so many eggs. (She laid 4) I knew she would be. I have my pet store on speed dial so I call them constantly when things happen. They told me to make sure she eats and gets enough calcium so I made sure that I had food in her cage at all times for her. But it wasn't enough. She wouldn't eat. Knowing her history of not eating for weeks, sometimes months at a time, I thought she'd eat when she was ready. Well, it was too late. Laying eggs takes so much out of a reptile I didn't even realize and no body told me. She ended up going into a comatose state and dying within hours or me taking her to the hospital. The thing with reptiles is they don't show any signs of distress until it's too late. Petrie was fine, hopping around and on my shoulder just hours earlier. The doctor said this was the most common reason that people take their reptiles in. My advice to everyone out there: if your reptile lays eggs and doesn't eat even 2 days afterwards, TAKE HER IN to have her get a dose of calcium or whatever it is she may need. Petrie had another 10 years with me (at least) so please if your reptile lays eggs, be AWARE and make sure they get enough of the calcium and the vitamins that they need. I pigged out at our Sunday potluck (as I always do). My apple pie ala mode was a hit! I got gift cards from hubby. One is for Lucille's BBQ (the food is superb) and the other one is for GODIVA! The guy knows me too well...LOL!
Today, we went out to see STAR TREK. You gotta watch it...it was awesome! I grew up watching STAR TREK.

STOP STARING AT MY SHELL, MOMMY!!!
Not much going on here...rain on and off as usual. Mommy was at work and got home late because of Friday night traffic. Guess what...mommy sees more patterns on my shell that are shaped like what she thinks they are, but she says to zip it! It will be a surprise, so stay tuned. I say she's seeing things...she really needs a hobby...anything to keep her busy, so she won't be staring at my shell...LOL! I think that NOrma sounds like one of my parrots. Birds are supposed to be graceful and such, but Snuggs is a different story. She will try to do flips on her perches and fall. She will try jumping from place to place and fall. Good thing the vet said that nothing was wrong with her or else I wouldn't be able to laugh so hard! Trina, Fort Hood, TX.

My kids are Jacob (7, ninja), Angelina (5, Ariel) and James (3, tiger). Angelina will be 6 at the end of January, and James is turning 4 next month. It's good that you're planning your family "expansion". Mine expanded pretty quickly before my eyes...LOL! We do need a bigger house, with all the kids and pets we have. Hi Norma and Gang! Sorry I am just now blogging back to you. I just got home last night from our trip. It was a great Halloween! How was yours? Did you do anyting exciting? My two year old human brother Topher went Trick or treating for the very first time. He had a blast and was a little bit angry with Mom when she told him that he couldn't share his food with the animals. Hey, at least he was trying, right?

How was your HALLOWEEN?
We went trick or treating and the kids got lots of candies. We got home kinda late and we didn't have too many trick or treaters stop by after that. I still have lots of candies left. It happened last year and I just didn't learn. Now hubby is going to eat all those candies and goodness knows he doesn't need it!!! I hope you had a great time last night. So...
...this is the fiesty one! TT3's page is 28598 (I think), just in case you wanna check out her pages. She's very organized. Hubby and I watch Bleach and Naruto on his computer (he has a 27 inch monitor). He downloads from a site. I'll ask him the web address. I think you do have to pay annually...but it's minimal.
